Understanding the Calculations

Exclusive Calculation Example:

  • Amount entered: ₹1,000
  • GST Rate: 18%
  • Calculation:
    • GST Amount = ₹1,000 × 18% = ₹180
    • Total = ₹1,000 + ₹180 = ₹1,180

Inclusive Calculation Example:

  • Amount entered: ₹1,180
  • GST Rate: 18%
  • Calculation:
    • Original Amount = ₹1,180 ÷ (1 + 18%) = ₹1,000
    • GST Amount = ₹1,180 - ₹1,000 = ₹180
